A World of Ideas to Change the World
Welcome to the University of Ottawa's Department of Sociology and Anthropology. Sociology observes and analyzes how human societies emerge, evolve and operate; in the process, it tries to understand and explain the factors and phenomena that shape them. Anthropology, on the other hand, examines simple and complex societies from a variety of social, cultural and physical perspectives.
