Our Services
At the Faculty of Social Services Mentoring Center, services are offered by 3rd or 4th year students trained expressly to support you starting with your first year of study, until graduation. Mentors are experienced students that can provide an empathetic ear to your concerns, answer your questions and support in setting your goals. Also, they can help you:
- adapt to university teaching
- adapt to a new city, province or country
- understand the course requirements
- know your program of study
- get motivated
- take better notes and make effective reading
- improve your written assignments
- develop efficient study routines
- prepare your midterm and final exam
- manage time and stress
If needed, mentors can refer to a professional resource.
Mentor Schedules
No appointments are required. You may however, consult a particular mentor according to this schedule. You can share with us your assessment of our mentoring services by completing this evaluation.
Upcoming Workshops
If you prefer group meetings to individual meetings, workshops offered by the mentors might interest you.
During the academic year, workshops are offered to develop your studying strategies! Driven by one or two student mentors, our workshops are held in a relaxed atmosphere, where the tips and experience of each are involved.
The groups may consist of 5-15 students who have similar concerns. The workshops are a great way to meet people who could become partners of study or with whom you could make friends. One thing is certain: you will benefit!
Register now by email or in person giving your name, student number, title and date of selected workshop.
