National Model United Nations in New York

The Faculty of Social Sciences is extremely proud of the student delegation which participated in the National Model United Nations (NMUN) Conference, held in New York City from 17 to 21 April. The delegation received the event’s two most prestigious awards: Outstanding Position Papers and Outstanding Delegation. These well deserved awards recognize the delegation’s hard work. Congratulations to all and to Professor Justin Massie (Faculty Advisor) and David Piccini (Head Delegate).

The delegates are: Celeste Ali-Akow, Sarah Baker, Pamela Groh, Ghezal Hamidi, Alina Haramita, Julia Hartviksen, Isabelle Hétu, Martine L'Heureux, Laura Lortie-Maurel, Joanna Marincak, Adam Moscoe, Elena Nicolinco, Eunice Njoroge, Sarah Oberholzer, Jasmine Pickel, Hamida Sachedina, Caryma Sa'd, Nicholas Sharratt, Kathleen Shore, Anna Soper, Shawn Vrieling and Jessica Wray.

The Ambassador of Italy to Canada, Mr. Andrea Meloni, came to visit the Model United Nations class to discuss Italy's domestic and foreign policies. The 2011 delegation will represent Italy at the National Model United Nations in New York City in April.
