Its geographical position, namely its Atlantic shoreline, exposes Senegal to outside influences.  This factor combined to its colonial heritage makes Senegal an interesting laboratory to study the dynamic of globalization and international development and their impact on society.

Using Senegal as a case study, the course will analyse the political, economic and cultural impacts of globalization and international development that influence decisions in senegalese society. Students will be introduced to theoritical tools necessary to field research. They will also acquire specific knowledge on senegalese society during their homestay in Senegal. This course is offered in French.
