Your Web Profile and Your CV
As a professor in the Faculty of Social Sciences you have available to you a Web-based tool which will facilitate the update of your Web profile and CV in Ontario Council of Graduate Schools (OCGS) format as well as maintain your career CV. The OCGS CV is required annually within the context of the annual report as a requirement of the collective agreement. In addition to this, the University requires the OCGS CV for any application for promotion or academic leave. In a single operation, you will be able to create an OCGS CV in MS Word format and update your Web profile. Not only will this tool streamline your processes and minimize the risk of errors, but it will also allow for regular updates.
Web profiles should be available for full-time professors, replacement professors, visiting professors, part time professors and senior fellows according to the available categories in the application. With the exception of part time professors, each professor has access to the Web-based tool which grants them access to his or her profile.
Direct your browser to the page https://web5.uottawa.ca/ssms/login.php
- Enter your username (the same one you would use for your Outlook account)
- Enter your password (enter your employee number – without the prefix 1000)
If you are experiencing difficulties accessing your account, contact the Informatics group by sending an email to itsocsci@uOttawa.ca.
We have prepared a guide and a video tutorial to facilitate use of the web profile tool. Within the tool, we have also added help texts. Click on the help icon at the top of each page, choose Profile management and choose the appropriate section. Should you have any questions or difficulties, please contact your academic secretariat.
