R. Mercier Family Fund
The fund was established in 1997 by Lucie Mercier-Gauthier (BCom '79), during her tenure as Director of Financial Services at the University of Ottawa, and by her parents, Roland and Fernande Mercier. Two other children are University of Ottawa alumni: Lise Cardinal (BScN'92) and Jean Mercier (BSS'88).
The donors appreciate the contribution of the Alumni Association and of the Government of Ontario through its Ontario Student Opportunity Trust Fund program.
PURPOSE OF FUND
To provide financial assistance to students from the faculties of Administration, Health Sciences and Social Sciences whose education would otherwise be compromised. Priority will be given to students from the Cornwall area.
SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS
Eligibility Criteria:
The applicant must:
- be registered (full-time or part-time) in an undergraduate program at the University of Ottawa. The scholarship will be offered, each year, alternatively and in the following order between the Faculty of Administration, the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Faculty of Social Sciences;
- be an Ontario resident, as per OSAP rules. Priority will be given to students who completed their high school from the Cornwall area; and
- demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Service of the University of Ottawa.

Applications must be made through the Online Scholarships and Bursaries System, available through uoZone, and should include:
- the "Financial Questionnaire" section;
- a copy of applicant's academic transcript.
