Joanne and Marc Villemaire Scholarship
Joanne (BA in Psychology in 1976) and Marc Villemaire (BA in Geography in 1993) are both franco-ontarians who have graduated from the University of Ottawa. With the Joanne and Marc Villemaire Scholarshiip, they would like to encourage young franco-ontarians to pursue their studies in their native language, at the University level, in an institution and Faculty that promote the franco-ontarian culture. They wish to help students contribute to the promotion of the French language in Ontario, and to counter the growing assimilation of young franco-ontarians, ensuring our future.
Eligibility criteria:
The candidate must:
- Be a full-time registered student at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ottawa;
- Be franco-ontarian;
- Be an Ontario resident, as per OSAP rules; and
- Demonstrate financial need as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Office of the University of Ottawa.
