Bursaries Offered by the Faculty

Joanne and Marc Villemaire Scholarship

Joanne (BA in Psychology in 1976) and Marc Villemaire (BA in Geography in 1993) are both franco-ontarians who have graduated from the University of Ottawa. With the Joanne and Marc Villemaire Scholarshiip, they would like to encourage young franco-ontarians to pursue their studies in their native language, at the University level, in an institution and Faculty that promote the franco-ontarian culture. They wish to help students contribute to the promotion of the French language in Ontario, and to counter the growing assimilation of young franco-ontarians, ensuring our future.

Eligibility criteria:

The candidate must:

  • Be a full-time registered student at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ottawa;
  • Be franco-ontarian;
  • Be an Ontario resident, as per OSAP rules; and
  • Demonstrate financial need as determined by the Financial Aid and Awards Office of the University of Ottawa.

Frequency: Annual
Level of the award: Third or fourth year at the undergraduate level, or graduate level

Application procedure:
Applications must be made through the Online Scholarships and Bursaries System, available through uoZone, and should include:

  • the "Financial Questionnaire" section;
  • A curriculum vitae.
