Welcome to the School of
International Development and Global Studies
Created in June 2008, the School of International Development and Global Studies (SIDGS) unites the Honours in International Development and Globalization and the Masters in Globalization and International Development.
The School's secretariat is located on the 3rd floor of Tabaret Hall. The teaching staff is also located on that floor.
This year, the SIDGS welcomes six new professors. Their research interests will broaden the scope of the School's programs: Environmental impacts of development, Political crises and civil conflicts and their impact on development, International public policies on Education, Socio-economic development of emerging countries, to name a few.
New courses, such as Ethics in Development, Theories of International Development, International Development Issues in Africa, Asia and Latin America, Conflict, Humanitarian intervention and international development, Private enterprise and development, have been added to the undergraduate program. These will provide students with a fuller understanding of issues and stakeholders involved in international development.
The student's academic experience will also benefit from the administrative staff assigned to the School: Annie Baylor and Caroline Ashikwe, Academic Assistant.
Together, members of the teaching staff and administrative personnel will provide students with a solid and rich academic experience.
