Before retiring from Canada’s Foreign Service, Robin Higham had an accomplished career as a diplomat and public servant. Among several notable positions in Canada and abroad, he served as Canada’s Permanent Representative to the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), the UN World Food Program, the World Food Council and the International Fund for Agricultural Development in Rome from 1978 to 1982. After serving in a number of senior positions at Agriculture Canada and at Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) in Ottawa, he returned abroad as Canada’s Ambassador to Morocco in the 1990s. He also headed Foreign Affairs’ Bureau on International Cultural and Academic Relations.
