The terrorist attacks of 9/11 spurred major changes to the intelligence community, in Canada and abroad. The new urgency of “getting it right” dominated discussion related to the issue of intelligence analysis and its role in response to evolving threats. This presentation will look at the ways in which intelligence analysis has changed in response to the post 9/11 environment, and the challenges facing the intelligence community in delivering a timely and usable analytical product.
The Security and Intelligence Roundtable events are a series of public lectures and discussions organized by the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs of the University of Ottawa, co-sponsored by the Canadian Association for Security and Intelligence Studies (CASIS, www.casis.ca).
